Karen Millen's The Perfect Dress Event w/ Aimee of Song of Style

This past Sunday, I was able to catch Aimee (pronounced "Aw-Mee") of Song of Style at Karen Millen's Perfect dress event (after seeing Aimee the event on her on instagram! Follow Aimee: @songofstyle) It was a little frustrating dealing with Century City's insane parking for over half an hour, but it was totally worth it. Aimee was not only styled perfectly, as always, but she turned out to be so amazing and down to earth. Her sister, Dani Song was also there, looking fabulous as well. If you ever end up running into either of the song sisters, don't be afraid to approach them! They're extremely kind and genuine. Both Aimee and Dani took time to greet and chat with me. :-) Aside from meeting these amazing ladies, Karen Millen's dresses
didn't fail to amaze me. Her dresses were pretty versatile in styles and so were her other items.

INSTAGRAMMING W/ AIMEE!

I wore my adored Zara breton striped shirt, Zara tweed coat, Just USA jeans,
Dooney & Burke bucket bag, and Zara satchel-made-camerabag.

Classic Essentials - No. 12 Basic Blue Jeans

Ben G. from kolonelmustard.com

Whoever said that you can't look classy in jeans?
I think basic jeans are one of the classiest items you could have.
For jeans, I think a darker wash (some people call it navy denim) give off a bit of a classier look
and look amazing when they are cuffed (folded to 7/8 length). Dark wash blue jeans give
just the right amount of casual look to classic outfits. I'm pretty picky with my jeans, because
even the slightest difference in shade give it a different look and of course, the fit has look good
and feel comfortable. In my opinion, skinny and straight leg are best for women
and straight leg suits men for the "classiest" look & fit.

Where to find:
You can find great style, affordable jeans at Forever 21, but they're not too comfortable and won't last too long. If you are willing to splurge, Rag & Bone, J Brand, and Current Elliot has some great jeans as well. My favorite brand for my jeans is Just USA. Majority of my jeans, regular denim and colored, are from Just USA because it feels they have the comfort of jeggings in the look of jeans; plus, they more affordable than those splurge brands I listed.

On-the-Go.

01. Combat Jacket - Forever 21
I have many army green combat jackets and this just happened to be the thinnest one...
California weather calls for my lightest clothes!

02. Black Basic Linen Tee - Zara
I have this basic linen tee in 3 colors -- white, black, and oatmeal.
This shirt is very light, so it's great for summer. The cut is unique and amazing too.

03. Black Double Thread Jeans - Just USA
I also have many pairs of Just USA jeans as well. They're addicting!
They have great colors with high quality materials and fit great too -- just the right amount of stretch!

04. Studded Flats - Theory
These are the one from my thrifting post!

I know I'm not the only one who's always short on time and on-the-go. For people like me who need to fly out the door to face early morning rush hour traffic and still maintain a decent amount of sleep, it's hard to get an outfit together that won't make you look like you dressed yourself half asleep. My outfit today is nothing too special, but it is something very easy to put together and that will look chic and effortless. As you can see, I just wore all black with some edgy flats and a combat jacket. You can also easily dress up this outfit for going out at night -- just add edgy heels to replace the flats and it will instantly dress you up.

Extra tips: You can make this look your own by switching the tee and jeans out for a black dress, whether it be a little black dress or a black maxi dress. This look will also look very chic with coated jeans (the ones that look like they're leather), which are very trendy right now.

Here's a great example: one of my favorite bloggers from OUTOFABOOK.

How would you create this look? What would you add to it? -- I'd love to hear!

Summer Class OOTD

I apologize again for the horrible quality photo.
Shall take pictures with a better camera soon!

Trench Coat : Forever 21
Nautical Striped Shirt : Zara
Classic Blue Jeans : Just USA
Coral Flats : Forever 21
Bag : Longchamp
Bracelets : Downtown LA Flea Market (Leather), Courtesy of Jessica Kim (Friendship)

I think I will wear my trench/nautical shirt look for the rest of my life.
I absolutely love it.
My trench coat and flats are very temporary. I bought them from forever 21 and the buttons fell of and its not easy keeping them they way they looked when I first bought them. I definitely would love to invest in a better trench coat when I can. As for now, I have a few khaki colored coats and jackets and I love them all!

Btw.. I am DYING waiting for Zara's sale to begin.. Sigh. The life of a Zara addict..

Hope you have a great day! :)
