A Not-So Black Friday Haul

Necklace & Bracelets: Forever 21
Red Sweater & Embellished Skirt: Zara
Tweed Jacket & Boots: Forever 21

I was able to snatch 10% off of my whole purchase at Forever 21, being on of the first shoppers in the store at midnight. Other than that, Forever 21 didn't have many deals available for Black Friday. Zara also kind of disappointed me with the tiniest selection of Black Friday sale items. I was able to purchase the red sweater on sale, but not the gorgeous sequin embellished skirt. I can't wait til their annual winter sale starts!

What kind of deals were you able to find this black friday? -- I'd love to hear!

On-the-Go.

01. Combat Jacket - Forever 21
I have many army green combat jackets and this just happened to be the thinnest one...
California weather calls for my lightest clothes!

02. Black Basic Linen Tee - Zara
I have this basic linen tee in 3 colors -- white, black, and oatmeal.
This shirt is very light, so it's great for summer. The cut is unique and amazing too.

03. Black Double Thread Jeans - Just USA
I also have many pairs of Just USA jeans as well. They're addicting!
They have great colors with high quality materials and fit great too -- just the right amount of stretch!

04. Studded Flats - Theory
These are the one from my thrifting post!

I know I'm not the only one who's always short on time and on-the-go. For people like me who need to fly out the door to face early morning rush hour traffic and still maintain a decent amount of sleep, it's hard to get an outfit together that won't make you look like you dressed yourself half asleep. My outfit today is nothing too special, but it is something very easy to put together and that will look chic and effortless. As you can see, I just wore all black with some edgy flats and a combat jacket. You can also easily dress up this outfit for going out at night -- just add edgy heels to replace the flats and it will instantly dress you up.

Extra tips: You can make this look your own by switching the tee and jeans out for a black dress, whether it be a little black dress or a black maxi dress. This look will also look very chic with coated jeans (the ones that look like they're leather), which are very trendy right now.

Here's a great example: one of my favorite bloggers from OUTOFABOOK.

Classic Essentials - No. 2 The Oxford Shirt

CLASSIC ESSENTIALS - NO. 2 THE OXFORD SHIRT

The oxford shirt is definitely a basic piece that always looks classy and sophisticated.
I really do think that oxford shirts look amazing in all varieties of colors, but for my closet essentials, I decided to pick out my black, white, and sky blue ones. The oxford shirt, I set aside for my lazy days when I still want to look nice -- I'll simply pair them with some blue cuffed jeans and nice, simple heels. I consider the white and sky blue oxford shirt very classy and something a classy closet definitely needs.

Where to find:
I've found Ralph Lauren to have amazing oxford shirts. Their oxford shirts come in amazing colors -- even the sky blue (it's actually quite hard to find "the perfect tone" sky blue oxford shirt) and they have great classy fits. After all, Ralph Lauren has been around for a long time! Ralph Lauren oxford shirts are a bit pricey (roughly around $90+), but in my opinion, they are completely worth it. If you aren't looking to splurge on these shirts, you can also find great alternatives at affordable prices at Forever 21 and H&M.

Styling ideas -- Try it like this!:
* Khaki pants and boat shoes, oxford shoes, basic black or nude court heels
* Black pants or dark wash blue jeans and oxford shoes, basic black court heels, or basic black platform sandals
* White pants and boat shoes, oxford shoes, simple red pumps, or basic nude court heels.
* Gray sweater or cardigan over with black pants or dark wash blue jeans
* Trench coat with black pants and basic nude or black court heels, basic black platform sandals, or simple black flats
* Black or navy blazer with khaki pants and oxford shoes or basic black or nude court heels.

& the list goes on.. ! There are so many great outfits you can style with the oxford shirt.
It looks perfect worn alone during spring and summer as well as layered for fall and winter -- a timeless piece indeed!

Do you own an oxford shirt? What's your favorite way to style yours? -- I'd love to hear!
